Rules & Regulations
- Teams are limited to a maximum of 4 people each.
- Drawers may not use letters, numbers, or symbols (@, #, $, etc.) when sketching.
- Drawers may not use verbal or physical communication.
- Judges will determine if forms of the word will be acceptable (For example, “draw” vs. “drawing”)
- The FINAL SCORE will be tallied from the point totals from each round (see below). Team with the highest number of points will be awarded the winner.
- In the event of a tie, there will be a DRAW OFF
- In the event of a dispute, or a really ugly drawing, the decision of the judges will be final.
The Game
ROUND 1: HAND OFF
- Each team will draw individually (while the other teams watch).
- The host will select a word for the first Drawer. The Drawer will sketch clues for the team.
- Sketching and guessing continue until the word is guessed or time is up.
- The Drawer may pass on a word only after 10 seconds have elapsed. The host will then select a substitute word for the Drawer.
- Once the word is guessed, the Drawer hands off the pen to the next team member, who becomes the new Drawer.
- Each team member must draw.
- At the end of the round, points will be awarded for each correctly guessed word.
ROUND 2: DRAW OFF
- Two teams will compete against each other through a random pairing.
- The same word will be presented to the Drawers of each team.
- The first team to correctly guess the word gets the point.
- Play continues with the next Drawer of each team until time runs out.
ROUND 3: SPEED DRAW
- Each team selects their best Drawer.
- The Drawer will draw continuously during this round while teammates guess.
- Points will be awarded for each correctly guessed word.
Prizes
Prizes will be awarded to the First, Second and Third place teams.

FAQs
Q: Do all team members have to be AIGA members? Can I sign up a team with non-AIGA members?
A: Players do not have to be a member of AIGA, but if they want to join, that’d be great! Also, players don’t even have to be designers! They can be sales reps, administrative assistants, accountants, front office personnel, spouses, second cousins once removed...
Q: Do Wallflowers get a free T-shirt?
A: Sorry, no. T-shirts will be awarded free to participating players only. We will have shirts for sale at the event, though. But why not put a team together and play anyway?! It’s worth it just for the T-shirt!
Q: How do I submit the pdf Registration Form?
A: You’ll need to download to your desktop and open in Acrobat. (Some browsers like Safari may attempt to open the pdf in your browser, but the interactive form will not function properly). After opening in Acrobat, you’ll be able to fill in the form. Save the file with your team name in the title and email back to DUI@honolulu.aiga.org
Q: When do I have to pay? Can I pay at the door?
A: After EMAILING your reservation to DUI@honolulu.aiga.org, you’ll also need to MAIL the form and payment to P.O. Box 22789, Honolulu, HI 96823-2789 to guarantee your space. Your reservation will be held until the spaces fill up. If spaces fill up and your payment has not been received, your space will be forfeited. Final payments must be received by November 29.
Q: Do I have to have 4 players on my team?
A: No, it’s a maximum of 4, minimum of 2. Why? Don’t you have enough friends?
Q: I’d like to play, but can’t put a team together. Can you help me?
A: If you’d like to send us your contact info, we’ll try to put you in touch with other people. Please note that this is not Match.com or a dating service...
Q: Do Wallflowers have to register?
A: It would be nice if you could email us that you’re coming so that we can plan the food accordingly.
Q: I can’t draw!
A: It’s not a game of how well you draw, it’s a game of how well you can communicate! Sure, we need people that can hold a pen, but we need people who are good guessers... And good party goers...
