ENVIRONMENTAL GRAPHICS: All environmental graphics must have been designed in the State of Hawai‘i within the period of September 2, 2007 through September 1, 2009. Applications include, but not limited to, signage, wayfinding systems, mapping, exhibition design, themed environments, retail spaces, sports facilities, and special-event atmospherics. Submit photographs as necessary to represent overall features and design details of graphic elements mounted on a black core mat board (not foam core), not to exceed 16’’ X 20’’.
WEBSITE: Website entries may be submitted as a Mac or PC-based CD-ROM containing four screens from the project. Please include the full address of the site on the CD-ROM. Website entries must work within Safari 1.5 (Mac). or Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox 1.5 (PC) web browsers. List all plug-ins required for the web browser (i.e. Flash, Quicktime, etc.). Label all disks with your name and the design firm’s name. Website entries must be published on the Internet for a client or may be a self-promotional piece. Personal websites will not be accepted. All entries must be in English. An entry form must be submitted with each piece.
STUDENT ENTRIES: Open to college students only. Work is not required to be published. Work produced by students in design classes must be submitted as color printouts mounted on a 16’’ X 20’’ black core mat board (not foam core). For posters, books, and packaging, submit the actual piece: even if oversized. Do not mount. Student entry fee is $25 per entry.* Three outstanding students shall receive an award certificate and a one-year AIGA student membership.
